Empty Thoughts
Artist Statement (Empty Thoughts): This was a picture that I took of the observatory on campus. I thought it was the perfect building to do symmetry for, because of the angle that my picture was at. It looks very abstract as a finished product, which was what I was going for. I like how the pillar is the middle of the picture on both the top and bottom. I also like how the building goes back an angle because it adds to the photo.
Time of Reflection
Artist Statement (Time of Reflection): Time of reflection was taken from the law quad on campus. It is a beautiful building and there are so many different angles you can take pictures from. For this picture, I thought symmetry was perfect because it was a picture of one side of a building that went further and further back. It added a lot of meaning to the symmetry to have it zoom out and out on all four quarters. It was tough to take this angle of the building because people kept getting in the background.
Lost for Words
Artist Statement (Lost for Words): Lost for words was a picture of a pillow at my house. The pattern on the pillow was interesting, so I took a picture of it. It turned out great when I changed it to a symmetry and I liked the patter even more than the original. I also like the orange color in the pillow. When I took the picture, I went to a spot in my house with all windows so the natural light would make the picture lighter.
