Serenity
Loggy
Artist Statement (Skyline Woods): I look at the Skyline woods everyday, so I thought it would be interesting to take photos of it. I took pictures of the woods in the back of Skyline. It was tough taking pictures of the woods, because it was hard to find color. But, I was eventually able to find the perfect angle. I want to convey a feeling of isolation in these photos.
Fields of Darkness
Thinking Tree
Artist Statement (Field): I took the photos of afield near my friend's house. I have been to his house many times and seen those fields many times, so I decided to take pictures of it. My mom told me that the tree in one of my photos was my friend's mom's favorite tree, so I took a picture of it. It was tough to find different interesting photos of the fields, but once I saw the tree, I knew it would be interesting. I want to convey a feeling of thoughtfulness in my photos of these fields.
Thoughts
Ponderous
Artist Statement (Skyline Pond): The pond at Skyline is a great example of the nature within our community. I was curious about the nature area at Skyline, so I decided to take pictures of it. I love how parts of the pond are melted and some parts are frozen. It adds a lot to the photo. When I took this photo, I wanted to convey a feeling of peacefulness.
Open Waters
Swan River
Artist Statement (Huron River): The Huron River is a great piece of nature in Ann Arbor. It is a great place to observe nature, so I thought it would be great to take pictures of. Also, in one part of the river, there were swans. I was able to capture them in my photo as they gracefully swam across the water. I wanted to convey a feeling of happiness when I took this photo because how beautiful the nature is in it.
Winter Wonderland
Tree Trunk
Artist Statement (Woods at my house): I took these photos at the woods at my house. There are some amazing trees at the woods near our house, so I focused on these trees when taking the photos. Also, the snow on the trees make the trees even more beautiful. I have been in these woods many times to grab the football when it goes in there, so I already had a few great spots picked out for the photos. When I took these photos, I wanted to convey a feeling of grandness because of how grand the trees were in the photos.
